My Story

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the unknown, to the names on maps, to the people behind unfamiliar languages, to places most never imagine setting foot in.

Thirty-five years ago, I set a goal that would quietly define my life: to visit every country in the world,  and in:

May 2025 I did it!!

197 COUNTRIES

This journey has taken me across deserts and deltas, megacities and mountain villages, from the headlines of history to the forgotten corners of the Earth.

As a photojournalist, I’ve sought to do more than just observe; I’ve worked to document and share the stories that shape our world. My lens has been both a passport and a notebook, capturing moments of beauty, resilience, struggle, and connection.

I’ve always believed that memory deserves more than digital storage. That’s why I collaborate with Lux Photo Lab to print my most meaningful photographs creating fine art fragments of my story making them permanent, tangible, and enduring. They remind me, and perhaps others, that the world is vast, beautiful, and deeply connected.

After all, "The Best University, is the World itself"

Q & A with Rodrigo

What inspired you to visit every country in the world?

Curiosity, deep, enduring curiosity. I’ve always believed that human beings learn best not by sitting still, but by moving through the world. That belief became my compass. Over the years, my goal wasn’t just to travel — it was to learn. And for me, “the best university is the world university.” Every border crossed, every conversation held, every moment observed became a lesson, one that no classroom could ever replicate.

As a photojournalist, what moments stay with you the most?

The quiet ones. Moments where words weren’t needed, where a look, a gesture, or a simple act carried a lifetime of meaning. What I try to capture in my photography are not just scenes, but emotions — the subtle presence of humanity in all its strength and vulnerability. Those are the images that stay with me long after the journey ends.

Why do you choose to print your work with Lux Photo Lab?

Because memory deserves more much more, it deserves to be tangible. A digital image can be scrolled past, but a printed photograph asks you to pause. Lux prints my work on Hahnemühle museum grade fine art papers,   papers that give weight and presence to the story behind the image. The texture, the color depth, the permanence... it transforms a photograph into something lasting. In a way, it completes the journey, from the world, to lens, to print.
