Light & Paper Issue 09, A New Bi-Monthly Chapter in Photography

Issue 09 of Light & Paper marks an important evolution for the magazine. Beginning in 2026, Light & Paper moves to a bi-monthly format, creating space for deeper conversations around photography, craft, and lived experience.

At the center of Issue 09 is Gabriel Roux, our Artist of the Month. A Nikon Ambassador in Mexico, Roux brings nearly four decades of professional experience across sports photography, portraiture, corporate assignments, and documentary work. His interview explores versatility as a way of seeing, shaped by years of adapting to diverse environments, high-pressure events, and evolving photographic technologies.

This edition also expands the magazine’s recurring sections. In Without Borders, photojournalist Rodrigo Rangel de Alba shares reflections from Bhutan as part of his journey documenting all 197 countries in the world. In Expert Pro Tip, Jorge Sotomayor offers practical insight drawn from more than twenty years of international

photography and video production, including lessons on traveling with professional gear. These sections reinforce Light & Paper as both a fine art photography magazine and a resource for working photographers.

Our Paper Focus highlights Hahnemühle Torchon, exploring how texture and surface influence the visual and tactile experience of fine art prints. Meanwhile, News & Events covers recent photography exhibitions and gatherings, including community initiatives such as Beers and Cameras’ December Print Swap and exhibitions at 6311arts in Chicago.

Issue 09 represents more than a new publication schedule. It signals a refined editorial structure and a broader perspective on the photographic world, connecting artist interviews, technical expertise, global storytelling, and print culture within one cohesive magazine.

For readers interested in contemporary photography, fine art printing, and international photographic dialogue, Issue 09 offers both inspiration and insight.

The new rhythm begins here.
